PURPOSE:To easily shift a work roll in its axial direction in order to prevent the nonuniform abrasion of the work roll, by connecting the work roll with a driver through a slide. CONSTITUTION:A motor drives worm gear reducers 9, 10 through a bevel gear reducer; hereby, a screw shaft 15 is rotated and fed forward so as to make a leveler 16 turn around a pin 17; as a result, work rolls 1, 2 are axially shifted through roll chocks 19, 20. By selecting the direction of rotation of work gear reducers 9, 10, etc., the work rolls 1, 2 are shifted in a desired same direction or in opposite directions. By thus axially shifting work rolls 1, 2 against the mill center, the trunks of work rolls 1, 2 can be effectively utilized without changing the center of a rolled material. |
