PURPOSE:To detect the velocity with high precision at the time of operating at the high velocity and low velocity by using properly the prescribed two approximations according to the velocity for the velocity detection. CONSTITUTION:The 1st counter circuit 4, the 1st register 7, the 4th counter circuit 10 and the 2nd control circuit 11 are used to calculate the high velocity approximation 1. The 2nd counter circuit 5, the 1st control circuit 6, the 3rd counter circuit 9, the 2nd register 12, etc. are used to calculate the low velocity approximation II. In other words, the time DELTAT required for making a rotary encoder 2 to change by the specified quantity deltatheta is measured to calculate the velocity at the low velocity by deltatheta/DELTAt or the variation DELTAtheta of the encoder 2 within the specified time DELTAt is measured to calculate the velocity at the high velocity by DELTAtheta/DELTAt. Hereby, the velocity detection with high precision can be always performed.
