PURPOSE:To enable operation at a high efficiency corresponding to a wide range of changes in the speed of driven machines by connecting a variable speed type motor to a differential planetary gear section for imparting an auxiliary power thereto while a sliding transmission section is provided on the input side or on the output side of the differential planetary gear section. CONSTITUTION:As soon as driven by a main driving machine 1, the rotating force is transmitted to a planetary gear 4 from a sun gear 3 of a differential planetary gear section 2, the planetary gear section 4 makes rolation as well as orbiting while the rotating force changed in speed and transmitted to a driven machine 7 through a carrier 6. In said arrangement, a sliding transmission section 13 including a wet type multiple disc clutch and a fluid coupling is interposed between the main driving machine 1 and the differential planetary gear section 2. A variable speed motor 14 reversely rotatable and with an output rotation speed ranging from 0 to 100% is attached for auxiliary driving of the differential planetary gear section 2. The motor 14 is so arranged as to have a driving pinion 8 meshed with a peripheral gear of the inner gear 5.
