The present invention relates to an arrangement related to a trailer for transporting wood, in particular timber, pulpwood or similar. The trailer comprises a wheel unit or bogie 4 displaceable along the chassis 1 of the trailer, as well as a plurality of load-carrying members in the form of cross members. Certain 9D, 9E and 9F of said cross members are arranged to be able to follow the bogie when this is displaced along the chassis of the trailer in that said cross members can be interlocked with the bogie by means of locking means. Said cross members 9D, 9E and 9F can be freed from the bogie and be locked to the chassis of the trailer instead by means of suitable locking means, in a position near the rear end of the trailer, whereby the bogie is displaceable relative to the cross members for diminishing the wheel base, without necessitating forwardly displacement of the cross members together with wood loaded thereupon when the cross members are locked to the chassis of the trailer and freed from the bogie. <IMAGE> |
