Refuse incinerator for agriculture - has spray heat exchanger in exhaust stack to scrub gases and heat water

The incinerator consists of a refuse hopper (1) and a combustion chamber (2) having a water-filled double-skinned enclosure. The hot gases pass up the exhaust duct over a spray heat exchanger (5) where water is sprayed directly into the gas stream. The gases are thus scrubbed and the water heated simultaneously. The heated water passes over a clarifier (9) into a heat reservoir (10). Water for heating is drawn off the top of the reservoir by pumps (11) and returned to the bottom (13). Water is pumped to the spray pipes (6) by the pumps (16). Make-up water is treated in the water-treatment plant (14) before being introduced into the circuit (15). The combustion chamber water jacket acts as a water preheater.
