The toy vehicle has an electricl motor coupled via a clutch mechanism with a drive shaft solid with the vehicle drive wheels. The directional steering control is coupled to the motor shaft and allows the steering wheels to be driven sequentially. Pref. the steering control comprises a toothed pinion (19) carried by the motor shaft engaging a cog sector which sequentially causes a control disc to be moved through one quarter of a full turn. A triangle coupled to the control disc sequentially moves the steering wheels from a position corresponding to driving to the centre to a centre position for driving straight ahead and a position corresponding to driving to the left. The motor pref. exhibits a reversal in rotation each time it receives a remote control pulse.
