<p>The arm (1) has independent suspension and is used to feed a tanged knife blade between opposed tangential polishing grinding wheels. The front length (2) of the arm uses a ram (9)-actuated tongs (7,8) to secure the knife tang, the fixed tong having a trapezoidal channel section. The trailing length (11) of the arm is equipped for attachment to a swivel transfer post. The suspension permits the front to oscillate about a fulcrum (5) in the horizontal or the vertical planes, using fork (4') slot-holes (6) to locate vertical stub-axles (5) projecting from the heel of the front. Springs (3) maintain the sections in alignment.</p> |
