PURPOSE:To ensure a good toner transfer, by performing a transfer action after the tip of a transfer paper passed through the area of transfer by a prescribed extent when a toner picture on a photosensitive paper is transferred onto the transfer paper by means of a transfer roller to which the bias voltage is applied. CONSTITUTION:A bias transfer roller 21 is usually made by coating an elastic resistance member 21B composed of the semiconductive rubber or the like onto the surface of a core metal 21 having a conductive rotary supporting shaft. The roller 21 is kept away from the charge holding member or the bias voltage to be applied to the roller 21 is made off to avoid a defective exfoliation after a toner image is transferred from the roller 21. Thus an action of transfer can be suppressed with an adverse bias or a low-level potential at which no trouble is caused to the exfoliation. |
