PURPOSE:To manufacture a magnetic head easily and to improve its recording efficiency and SN ratio by providing a running groove for a recording medium in a substrate made of a nonmagnetic material and by making a main magnetic pole part and an auxiliary magnetic pole part of the same magnetic material on the flank of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:In a substrate 1 made of a nonmagnetic material such as glass and ceramics, a groove 2 wherein a recording medium 3 runs is provided and on its flank 1b, a magnetic film 4 of permalloy, Mn-Zn ferrite, etc., is formed. The magnetic film 4 is provided with a main magnetic pole part 4a and a counter auxiliary magnetic pole part 4b, which is wound with a coil 5 to lead wires 5a and 5b out. Sending a write signal to the coil 5 magnetizes the auxiliary magnetic pole part 4b, recording information at the magnetic layer 3b of a recording medium 3 in close contact with the magnetic pole 4a. Consequently, the magnetic head is manufactured easily and its recording efficiency and SN ratio are improved. |
