A display device reproduces processing data presenting process elements accurately w.r.t. a time axis in the form of a bar chart housing when they begin and end. The arrangement is reduced in cost. The display unit is in the form of a colour t.v. receiver with a video test broadcast adaptor and/or a screen text post office adaptor. More than two lines of data are transferred per t.v. half image. The increased information transfer density can either be used for more rapid image refreshing or for transferring more pages of text contg. different information. The operating mode can be selected via an operator console.
