Safety device for persons working e.g. on roof - has bracing wire attachment for person, with end connected to brake mechanism

The safety device protecting persons working at heights from fall is fitted on a roof beam (10) resting on roof supports (11). The safety equipment consists of a bracing wire (13) stretched between two opposite double supports (14) fixed on the roof beam. The person is provided with catch harness (15), with a safety rope (17) connected to a dive brake (16). The safety rope is attached to the bracing wire (13) with an eyelet enabling the rope to slide along the bracing wire as the person walks along the beam. In case of an accidental fall at any point of the beam, the safety rope tightens and the weight of the person is transferred onto the bracing wire. The brake (26) to which one end of the bracing wire is connected comes into operation and slows down the fall of the person with a subsequent stop of the fall.
