A push-button switch for electrical and electronic equipment, such as channel selectors and tabletop calculators, whose cover consists of synthetic resin and the switch housing has a multiplicity of fixed contacts which are integrated with the housing during the casting process and whose slide carries the moving contact elements, and having the object of simplifying automated assembly, the side walls of the switch housing have base parts with an increased wall thickness but on the other hand relatively thin-walled upper edge regions, and the cover being mounted between a pair of these thin-walled upper edge parts like a sandwich, so that a pair of opposite parallel side walls is formed. <IMAGE>
