The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for the simultaneous sizing of threads provided in a large number and consisting of long fibres. A plurality of warp beams with a number of warp threads sufficient for weaving a fabric or a cloth are allocated to two or three beam-stand sets, depending on the total number of warp threads and on the thread diameter, so that, in a common warp-thread web drawn off from a part set and having the width of the warp beam, the warp threads have a thread division which amounts to more than three times the thread diameter. During the run through one of the sizing and drying stages provided, in each case in the same length, in two or three systems located vertically one above the other in planes, each common warp-thread web drawn off from a set of warp beams is sized, squeezed out and dried in the form of part warp-thread webs, the threads in the stage between the squeezing out and the finish-drying all being exposed to an identical tensile stress. After the sizing and drying of the threads in each system, all the threads converge along identical distances and under an identical tensile stress and are wound on a warp beam in the form of a complete warp-thread web.
