A circuit for keeping the average detector pulse height constant for X-ray fluorescence spectrometers consisting of an adjustable linear amplifier (2), a channel window (4) with a pulse channel of programmable width and height, a decision unit (8), which may be a micro-computer or a peak detector, connected in digital or analogue manner to the output of a pulse rate meter (5).
