<p>PURPOSE:To stably control the looper position for all sizes of the rolled materials, by changing a control gain of a looper position controller correspondingly to the change in the breadth of the rolled material, in a looper of a hot strip mill. CONSTITUTION:A looper position controller detects the looper angle theta of a looper 4, and a speed controller 11 adjusts the rolling speed so as to make this detected looper angle theta equal to an aimed looper angle thetaK. If a gain corrector 13, when a control gain G for a reference looper position is preset, is defined to output a ratio between the breadth W of the rolled material 3 and a reference breadth WO, the gain corrector 13 is possible to output W.alpha/WO (alpha is an optionally settable constant). A limiting circuit for satisfying W<=WO is provided in a memory circuit 12; hereby, the gain correction by a narrow breadth becomes easy after setting a gain correction by the sectional area, so that the looper position control becomes always stable for all sizes of the rolled materials.</p> |
