PURPOSE:To extend the life of a thermal head, by separately using a plurality of heating body elements formed in the thermal head so that the scatters of durability and frequency of use of the heating body elements used at the same time can be narrowed. CONSTITUTION:When one of X electrodes x1-xn and Y electrodes y1-y7 of the thermal head 39 is connected to a circuit, a motor 32 is driven, and an electrical signal is inputted into the thermal head 39, then visible information similar to the convertional visible information is recorded onto a recording medium 43. In a case wherein the ability of the heating body element in use is damaged, it is replaced with an unused Y electrode to improve the printing quality, and recording is performed. |
