PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned form of any desired thickness which is a semiconductor having an electrical anisotropy and a large mechanical strength by a method wherein a gel-like or swelled material consisting of an acetylene high polymer and an organic solvent medium is formed by pressurizing and thereafter being orientated uniaxially. CONSTITUTION:The gel-like material in which the aggregate of the fibril of the acetylene high polymer having a cis containing amount of more than 50% is dispersed uniformly in the organic solvent medium, or the swelled material in which the fibrils are tangled closely to form a constant configuration and the solvent medium is retained between the fibrils, is pressurized under a pressure in a range of 10-1,000kg/cm<2> at a temperature of 50 deg.C or lower to obtain a filmlike form containing 5wt% or more of the organic solvent medium. Subsequently, this filmlike form is orientated uniaxially in the air at a temperature lower than 50 deg.C or in an inactive gas atmosphere at a temperature lower than 250 deg.C. If the form of a high draw ratio is desired to obtain, it is preferable to process it in the inactive gas atmosphere at a temperature of 100-250 deg.C. |
