<p>The moving endless belt (26) has spaced skein pockets (25a to 25l) formed in it, pref. by belt guide rolls (30,31) movable relatively to open and close lateral access to the pockets. Skeins or balls (11) are fed (16,17) to the open pockets and banding material (12) is then fed (23) into the closed pockets for wrapping around the skeins (11). Pref. the skein pocket ends are closed by rolls carried by the pocket-forming rolls (30,31), and the banding material (12) runs from a supply source (19) through a printer (18) and past a glue applicator (21,22) preceding a band feeder (23). High speed automatic skein bander operating continuously is obtd.</p> |
