The thermally insulating blind for windows etc. comprises a pneumatic structure (1) which is unrolled down lateral channels (5) and then inflated with air, trapping an insulating layer of air (8) between itself and the window pane. The blind is pref. transparent, spaced from the external surface of the window pane and coated with a layer of infra-red reflecting material (2). The blind allows visible light to pass through the window but causes the infra-red to be reflected.
