发明名称 TERMINAL STRUCTURE OF THIN-FILM MAGNETIC HEAD
摘要 PURPOSE:To facilitate a connection of a lead wire, by forming a thin-film magnetic head by sticking the terminal part of a slidr block, thinner than the width of a nonmagnetic substart provided with a thin-film magnetic circuit, on the nonmagnetic substrate so that an electrode for a driving circuit is exposed. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of a ribbon-shaped nonmagnetic wafer 11, a thin- film magnetic circuit 12 (having a magnetic gap 121 and an electrode 124 of a driving circuit) is provided to form a substrate 1; and the flank 21 of a block as thick as the width of the wafer 11 is finished at right angles to the top surface and a part 22 which corresponds to said electrode 124 on the flank 21 is cut, and in parallel to the cut part 22, a groove 23 is formed to a prescribed width and a prescribed depth, thus obtaining a slider block 2. So that the electrode 124 is exposed, the substrate 1 and block 2 are joined with a molten glass member 4 and depth work is performed to form a slider reference surface 52; after track and slider width work, the projection part of the block 2 is cut, as shown by the broken line, on the basis of the surface 52 to form a magnetic head 7.
