1. Armoured vehicle propelled by caterpillar tracks by means of sprocket drive-wheels (9, 10) which are driven by a propulsion unit comprising a drive motor (5), located in the front part (4) of the vehicle, and, at the side of this motor, a free space and a rear space which 0 is organised into a rear compartment between and above the caterpillar tracks (2, 3) and which is accessible at least via a rear door, characterised in that : a) the propulsion unit comprises an electricity-generating set which consists of the drive motor (5) and of a generator of electrical current (6) arranged longitudinally in the central part of the front (4) of the vehicle, directly behind the armoured front wall, b) driving and firing posts are located at the front end of the vehicle on either side of the propulsion unit, c) the sprocket drive-wheels (9, 10) are located at the rear of the caterpillar tracks (2, 3) and are equipped with built-in electric motors, leaving between them free access to the rear compartment. |
