The disconnector has a casing (3) containing a first arc switching piece (4) connected to the casing and surrounded by an insulating wall that emits extinguishing gas under the action of an arc (12). This wall forms a sleeve (5a) with a second arc switching piece (6a). The space between the wall of the casing and the insulating sleeve contains a spring (10) that is compressed and released during disconnection. The components of the disconnector are united into an independent unit. The first switching piece (4) is tubular. The insulating sleeve has an axial insulating post (5b), which is enclosed by the tubular switching piece when the disconnector is closed.
