The bag emptier and slitter is mounted on a vibrating frame (1). The bag (4) is placed on a trough (3) which is hinged at the pivot (2). The trough is positioned by a hydraulic cylinder (6) and may be tipped up until it is closed by the lid (9). The bag is held in the trough by side claws (12) in the lid and (18) in the base. The bag is slit by a blade (27) mounted on a motor driven trolley (31). The contents of the bag are gathered in the delivery hopper.
