PURPOSE:To realize low cost cheap and high quality through reduction of manufacture process together with improvement of holding rate of luminous flux, by attaching and sealing an electrode on the end portion of a luminous tube cohile heating and melting the end portion of the main tube of the luminous tube, through the heating process divided into the plural number of steps at the time of attaching and sealing. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 2 held by a holder 6 is inserted into the end portion of a main tube 1, and a chip pipe 4 is connected to an inert gas leading-in pipe 5, and held together with the main tube 1. Under this condition, inert gas is led into the main tube 1 from the leading-in pipe 5 through the chip pipe 4, so as to displace active gas in the main tube 1. Then, moisture adsorbed or occluded in the main tube 1 is discharged by heating the end portion of the main tube 1 to 400 deg.C with a gas burner, and, next, other inert gas is discharged by heating the end portion of the main tube 1 to 1,000 deg.C. After that, the temperature of the end portion of the main tube 1 is raised to a temperature at which attaching and sealing are possible, that is, 1,700-1,800 deg.C, and the electrode 2 is attached and sealed with a press head already processed into a required shape. |
