1459903 Mixing apparatus ORTHO PHARMACEUTICAL CORP 8 April 1974 [9 April 1973] 15551/74 Heading B1C A device for mixing test reagents comprises a test member 1 which includes a curved concave mixing surface 2 for the receipt of the test reagents the test member having portions which define a plane with respect to which the mixing surface is concave, means 3 for supporting the test member in a position such that the angle between said plane and the horizontal is no less than 5‹ and no greater than 45‹ the test member being mounted on the support means so as to be rotatable about an axis normal to said plane. The mixing surface may be arranged on or eccentric to the axis of rotation and rotation may be effected manually or by a motor. More than one mixing surface may be arranged on the test member and the concavity may be designed to receive a disposable or removable slide or disc such as a watch glass. The device is particularly intended for immunological and serodiagnostic test reactions.
