<p>The respirator is for use by snorkel divers, and comprises a mouthpiece connected via a three-way valve to two tubes. The end of the first tube is free when the swimmer is near the surface, while that of the second is connected to an air reservoir for use when diving deeper. The valve can have a plug inside the mouthpiece, manoeuvrable by the tongue of the swimmer. The plug is of V-shape, pivoting along its ridge, each of its faces shutting off one port. An external lever allows manual control of the plug.</p> |
