The lamp socket converter allows miniature halogen lamps to be used in lamps not originally intended to receive them. The rear of the socket is a standard lamp cap. The front part takes the form of a dome with two internal notches which hold the halogen lamp in place and allow finger room around the rim, permitting the lamp to be screwed in easily. The dome is pressed onto the socket, is reflective, and holds the lamp with spring clips. The adaptor simplifies the use of halogen adaptor in the majority of existing equipment. The reflective dome provides an effective means of applying the effort to screw and unscrew the socket whilst protecting the fragile lamp. Either a naked bulb or a sealed beam unit may be used in the converter.
