A typewriter includes a single key facility for control of tabulator settings that are held in memory. The typewriter operates with a keyboard that provides both alpha-numeric and function keys (2), together with a single tabulator key (1,4). A microcomputer control unit (4) has a separate area of memory (5) assigned for the storage of tabulator data. The printer (7) has the carriage controlled to move depending upon a number of tabulator settings (10-13). Location of the head in particular position enables tabulator setting by a single operation of the key and a first display (15) is activated. A second setting is made in a similar way. Resets may be produced by key operation at the specific tabulator setting.
|
