N-(substituted phenyl)-N min -(1,4,5,6-tetrahydropyrimidin-2-yl) or (4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1-H-1,3-diazepin-2-yl) ureas and pharmaceutically-acceptable salts thereof are disclosed to be useful in relieving the symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome, and as anti-diarrheal agents and as antihypertensives.
