PURPOSE:To make possible the selection of the appropriate position of the accelerating pedal by indicating the comparative value of at least one functional factor of an internal combustion engine and by indicating only one of the indications during the operation of the brakes of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Comparative value of at least one functional factor of an internal combustion engine with respect to a reference value is indicated. Only one of indications is provided always when a braking signal is provided. For example, AC pulses proportional to the revolving rate of the engine applied to a terminal 1 is converted 1a into voltage and compared 1c with a voltage generated by a constant setting device 1b. A voltage corresponding to the low fuel consumption rate range and obtained through a characteristic converter 2 is compared 2c with a voltage proportional to the position of the accelerating pedal and applied to a terminal 3. When the revolving rate of the engine is within the low fuel consumption rate range, a green signal lamp 5 is lighted up while a red lamp 6 is lighted up when the revolving rate of the engine is outside the low fuel consumption rate range. While a brake operating signal is applied to a terminal 7a or 7b, only the green lamp 5 is always lighted up. |
