PURPOSE:A GeO2-PbO-Al2O3 system glass is combined with a specific fluoride to increase the processability, thermal shock resistance and mechanical strength as well as the infrared transmittance. CONSTITUTION:The objective glass is composed of 10-60% of GeO2, 20-70% of PbO, 1-15% of Al2O3 and 1-10% of at least one selected from ZnF2, PbF2 and CaF2. It shows high transmittance to the infrared rays of 5.5-6 microns and is suitably used as the windows for the temperature detection in electronic cooking oven, high-speed centrifuge. |
