Method of filling gas chamber of compression body e.g. for circuit breaker or gas-pressure fuse

A procedure for filling a gas chamber (8) of a compression body has a piece of frozen gas placed inside the open chamber, which is then closed. Next, the chamber is heated to a temperature above the evaporation temperature of the gas. The heat is generated by the closing of the chamber, such as by welding it up. The gas is such that it is actually gaseous at the required working temperature of the body. Typical gases are carbon dioxide, nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur hexafluoride, particularly for electrically insulating the gas chamber.
