Process for the Preparation of Novel Halogeno-banzothiophene-carboxylic Acids Novel halogeno-benzothiophene-carboxylic acids can be prepared according to a new process by reacting thiophenols with dihalogenomaleic anhydrides and cyclising the resultant intermediate in the presence of a Lewis acid. The novel halogeno-benzothiophene-carboxylic acids are valuable intermediates for the preparation of pharmaceutically active compounds having an antiallergic action.
