METHOD FOR KEEPING FRESHNESS OF GREEN VEGETABLES AND FLOWERS

PURPOSE:To keep the freshness green vegetables and flowers without lowering the C2H4-removing effect even under high-humidity condition, by removing ethylene generated from green vegetables and flowers using a specific ethylene- removing agent. CONSTITUTION:C2H4 generated from green vegetables or flowers is removed by using a C2H4-removing agent produced by fixing a phthalocyanine complex salt or its derivative on a carrier. Preferably, the C2H4-removing agent is put into a gas-permeable container and the content is sealed together with the green vegetables or flowers or gas in the storage chamber of the green vegetables or flowers is passed through a layer packed with the C2H4-removing agent.
