Non-return valve mounted in pipe flanges - has gate offset with hinge pin outside fluid flow area

The non-return valve consists of a disc having a flow orifice (2) and mounted between the pipework flanges (9,10). The flow orifice is eccentric in the pipe bore to provide a space for the hinge pin (5) of the gate. The hinge pin hole (7) is drilled through the edge of the disc and tapped to receive the threaded head of the pin. An annular groove in the valve seat (3) contains a joint ring (8) to ensure a water-tight seal.
