PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive and simple constitution without using expensive microswitches and the like by directly and electrically detecting the expansion caused by the yielding of gas resulted from the abnormality of the capacitors by detecting conductors. CONSTITUTION:The capacitors 1a1-1d3 are fixed to a base plate 2 with equal angle steels 3. The detecting conductors 6a-6d are provided with a specified distance being provided from the side walls of the capacitors 1a1-1d3. Both ends of the detecting conductors are fixed to a supporting frame 4 by insulators 7. One end of a relay 8 is connected to the detecting conductors 6a-6d, and the other end is connected to a DC power source 9 in series and then grounded. The containers of the capacitors 1a1-1d3 are constituted by the conductors and grounded. In this constitution, when dielectric breakdown is caused in the internal elements in the capacitor, arc is generated, insulating oil is decomposed and gasified, and container is expanded, the container is contacted with the detecting conductor, the relay 8 is energized, and the abnormal state of the capacitors is indicated by indicator lamps and the like. |
