PURPOSE:To set and release a roll chock easily in a short time, by making a set ring instead of a half ring engage with the main body of a roll. CONSTITUTION:A part of the side wall of an annular groove 3 having a half ring inserted, is cut off a to open toward the roll end, in a work roll 1. An annular set ring 2 having an internal projection at a position facing to the said open part is advanced from the end of the work roll 1 into the annular groove 3 so as to fit the internal projection to the open part; the set ring 2 is then turned around so as to shift the internal projection from the open part of the annular groove 3 to the closed parts on both sides. A key 5, elastically pressed by a spring 6 from the roll 1 side, is inserted into a concave hole 14 of the set ring 2 so as to engage with the main body of the work roll 1, and the roll chock 15 is set. |
