PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal transfer recording medium high in sensitivity and capable of forming a transfer image excellent in hot press properties and friction resistance and also excellent in ribbon preservability. SOLUTION: In a thermal transfer recording medium constituted by successively laminating a release layer based on wax with an m.p. or softening point of 70-120 deg.C, a first transfer layer based of an acrylic copolymer containing acrylonitrile or methacylonitrile at least as a monomer component but not containing a colorant and a second transfer layer based on a colorant and wax with an m.p. or softening point of 70-120 deg.C on a support, the thickness of the first transfer layer is set to 1.0-2.0μm and that of the second transfer layer is set 0.5-1.0μm. |
