The boiler furnace insert is for domestic-heating type boilers. It comprises a two-piece floor-cum-wall unit (2,3) of castable refractory material, consisting of base-plates (2a,3a) supporting sidewalls along their outer edges (5), rear panels joined to the sidewalls, and intermediate webs (7); forming when fitted together three parallel combustion chambers. A U-section roof casting (1) covers these chambers; the gap remaining is covered by a box-form closing stone (4) overlapping the backwalls and sidewalls, extending part-way over the roof and having two outlets (8) in the top. The floor-cum-wall unit may be in mirror-image halves.
