The hair cutter has a base plate for running on the hair and a blade.The blade (28) is guided on a circular path and is moved by a handle (38). The plane of the base plate (10) is in tangential contact with the base plate. The blade may be moved against the force of a spring (42). It is held in a retainer (20,24,26) which is movable in side sections (12), connected to the base plate. The blade consists of a removable razor blade.
