A wraparound heat-recoverable sleeve (1) is provided with at least one strip of pigmented adhesive (5,6) capable of flowing on application of heat. The pigmented adhesive is placed on the innermost surface of the sleeve (1) directly under the thickest section of the sleeve, e.g. under closure rails (2,3) of the sleeve. The sleeve (1) is wrapped around a substrate (7) and closed by a channel (8). When heated to effect recovery the sleeve (1) exudes pigmented adhesive, thus indicating that sufficient heat has been applied.
