PURPOSE:To improve a vibration suppressing effect and a vibration preventing effect of an engine mount for an automobile by interconnecting metal elements of the engine and the car body by means of a bellows type air spring which is in turn connected to an auxiliary tank such that it is discommunicated therefrom in a vibration suppressing region whereas it is communicated therewith in a vibration preventing region. CONSTITUTION:In a vibration preventing region of an engine, a magnet valve 25 is opened to communicate the inside of bellows 10 with an auxiliary tank 23. By this construction, a substantial capacity of an air spring increases by a volume of the auxiliary tank 23, and hence the dynamic spring constant of the air spring decreases accordingly. Thus, transmission of vibrations from the engine to the car body can be prevented thereby. Meanwhile, in a vibration suppressing region, the magnet valve 25 is closed to discommunicate the bellows 10 from the auxiliary tank 23, and hence the air spring capacity is now presented only by the bellows 10, providing a vibration suppressing characteristic. By this construction, an engine mount can be obtained which has a good vibration suppressing characteristic and also has a good vibration preventing characteristic in a vibration preventing region. |
