PURPOSE:To simply and efficiently enable the continuous speed change of a single- phase induction motor of general purpose type by a method wherein a plurality of electronic switching circuits and stepping circuits which causes the switching circuits to selectively and sequentially perform the make and break operations are formed. CONSTITUTION:Each coil of the single-phase induction motor which a stator is arranged with, for example, coils 1a-1f as main windings and coils 2a-2f as auxiliary windings are alternately arranged, is connected to an AC source 5 through the electronic switchig circuits 6a-6f, 7a-7f, 8a-8f and 9a-9f which are provided with two power transistors respectively connected in antiparallel. In addition, the stepping circuits giving continuity instructions selectively and sequentially to those switching circuits are provided, and by changing the directions and speeds of the stepping, the revolution speeds can be obtained which the stepping speeds are added or subtracted with respect to the synchronizing revolution speeds. |
