PURPOSE:To obtain a light-weight composite material formable at a low temperature to give an easily cuttable formed article and having excellent vibration damping property and weather resistance, by compounding ceramics, metal, graphite, etc., to a synthetic resin and forming the composite. CONSTITUTION:The objective composite material can be produced by mixing (A) a synthetic resin (e.g. phenolic resin, polyimide resin and polyphenylene sulfide and preferably imide resin, etc. having high heat resistance) with (B) ceramics (carbide, nitride, boride, oxide or silicide) and mixing the obtained mixture with (C) one or more kinds of metals (metal or alloy of Cu, Ni, Fe, W, Mn, Co, etc.), graphite, fibers (glass fiber, carbon fiber, etc.), etc. The amount of the component A in the composition is 15-40vol.%. |
