<p>The appts. is used for making wooden structures which can include composite beams. The beams are advanced on rollers underneath an adhesive distributor blade sloping in the direction of travel, and swinging about an axis at right angles to the direction of travel. The blade carries a valve with a supply tube attached, connecting the adhesive supply to the discharge holes at the lip of the blade. The blade is attached to a boss with a lug projecting from it, which is p shed upwards by a spring underneath, holding the tip of the blade in contact with the wood. When the end of the wood is reached, the spring tilts the blade so that the lug operates a switch which cuts off the adhesive supply. Above the lug is an adjusting screw. The ingredients pass through a dispensing and mixing unit with connections for compressed air and interconnected with a control unit. The switch operates in conjunction with a photoelectric cell in which a luminous ray is interrupted by the traject of the workpieces.</p> |
