Fixing tape, suitable for fastening medical instruments (8), such as catheters, drainage, probes, infusion hoses, etc. against the skin of a patient. The tape contains a bearer layer (1) with skin-friendly adhesive (2) on one side. The instrument (8) is fixed in position with great security and less risk of abrasion to the patient through a film (4, 5) in part (4) being fastened to the other side of the bearer layer (1) while the remaining part (5) of the film (4, 5) or bearer layer (1) is equipped with adhesive and an easily removable protective layer (6). During use, the protective layer (6) is removed and the instrument (8) is positioned between the film (5) and the bearer layer (1). Since the bearer layer (1) is relatively thick and is made of plastic foam, risks to the patient are further reduced while at the same time the bearer layer (1) has a considerable ability to take up relative movements between the instrument (8) and the patient without weakening the bandage.<IMAGE> |
