Production of the accelerator involves mixing an aqueous solution or suspension of (a) a sulfate of aluminum, of iron and/or of lithium and (b) a powder of at least one calcium (sulfo)aluminate, and wet grinding the obtained mixture in a ball mill . The calcium (sulfo)aluminate is selected from the following: CA, C2A, C3A, C11A7, CA2, CA6, C4AF, C12A7, C2ASiO2, C3A3X and/or C4A3X, where C = CaO, A = Al2O3, F = Fe2O3, X = SO3 and H = H2O (sic). The dry weight amount of the calcium (sulfo)aluminate powder with respect to the total dry weight amount of the mixture is at most 40%, preferably 15-40 weight %. The weight fraction of the components (a) and (b) of the mixture is adjusted so that the pH of the accelerator is at most 4. Independent claims are given for: (i) the liquid accelerator for a hydraulic binder; and (ii) use of the accelerator in the preparation of cement paste, mortar or concrete. |
