PURPOSE:To prevent an erroneous printing of a label and to enable to perform a correct printing in a given position, by a method wherein, when a commodity number of a commodity name stamp is stored, it simultaneously is indicated, and the stamp is positioned so that it can freely move at the inside of a slot and in the direction of the width. CONSTITUTION:Through the insertion of an insert key 16, storing a commodity number of a commodity name stamp, into a slot 15 in a scale, the key 16 is attracted to a magnet 25 for securing thereon. Simultaneously, a reading device 25 reads out the commodity name, stores a commodity name corresponding to bits 21-23 of the key 16, and indicates it as well. The slot 15 is constituted such that its width is wider than that of the key 16. In case the stamp is found to be displaced in a position judging from the indication, the position is adjusted through the horizontal movement of the key 16. |
