AUTOMOTIVE EXHAUST GAS COLLECTING PIPE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To cut down the price to a low level of an exhaust gas collecting pipes and make the pipes superior in working property by press-molding the ones having an opening with more than two branches and a circular one-sidedly biased and curved opening on the upper and lower parts respectively of pipe body. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal portion 4 is provided by uniformly compressing from both sides the central portion of the upper part 1 having a communicating opening at the center of more than two circles of a tube body 3 consisting of the upper part 1 and a lower part 2 having a one-sidedly biased opening, and circular openings 5 and 5 are provided on the opposite sides ot each other with respect to the portion 4. Next, an automotive exhaust gas collecting pipe is formed by curving the opening 2 in a proper angle in a proper direction for the condition of an engine. The pipe can be priced low because only press-molding method is used for the manufacture thereof and is improved in working property for piping since the exhaust gas outlet side part thereof is bent properly for the arrangement of engines.
