A centerless grinder, e.g. for restoring cylindricity of sintered nuclear fuel pellets, comprises a housing(12) mounting opposed grinding and regulator wheels with non-parallel axes of rotation, and a mounting blade supporting pellets between the wheels for grinding. A feed wheel(24) has radial peripheral extensions and a camming surface(50), and is mounted on an axle(44) for advancing pellets to the blade. An escapement pivoted on the axle has a pin(52) to follow the camming surface and diverts pellets from the feed to near the feed wheel there radial extensions contact the pellet ends and advance them to the blade at uniform rate.
